Congrats to Pack 62 Cub Scouts Nick Lalond, Timothy Gandt and Adam Sobran who achieved the Arrow of Light award and are now Boy Scouts! It was my pleasure to present them with special citations at their ceremony this evening at Holy Family Church.
Pembroke High School tenth graders from Ms. Lynne Place’s history class recently competed in the South Shore District Competition of the Mass. History Day Program. Julia DeBenedictis, Erin Devine, and Courtney Garvey placed second out of 17 groups and Thomas Duane, Drew Latwas, and Anthony McLaughlin placed first. There were 23 schools in all represented at the competition. Rep. Josh Cutler visited PHS last week to meet with the students and present them with congratulatory citations from the Mass. House of Representatives for a job well done!
It is a tradition that each new state representative offer a maiden speech in the House chamber. I had the honor of giving my first speech this past Wednesday evening during budget debate and I wanted to share it with you. I spoke in support of a line item that provides funding for our local councils on aging so they can offer programs and services to our seniors. I'm pleased to report that it received bi-partisan support. Thank for you this opportunity. It is an honor to serve the residents of the Sixth Plymouth District!
