Coffee Talk in Tremont Street

What better spot for a neighborhood meet and greet than the home of Fran and Christina Doran on Tremont Street. The rain held off and we had a nice chat outdoors next to the pond. Good discussion about health care, open space preservation and the need to bring reform to Beacon Hill.

Neighborhood Brunch in Halifax

Had a great brunch at the home of John & Sue Bruno in Halifax on Sunday. Lots of tasty offerings, a good crowd and some great questions.

Holding Signs in Hanson

There was lot's to do in Hanson on Saturday, including a Kids Safety Day at the Shaw's Parking lot and opening of Cranberry Cove down at Camp Kiwanee. The Cutler Crew started it off with a standout on Rt. 58 next to the Conway building. Thanks to Steve, Cathy, Alan, Danielle and of course Charlie and Mom. Also joining us later were Marianne and Joe.

Convention Time!

Attended the Democratic State Convention today in Worcester and ran into lot of old friends. Governor Patrick gave a great speech as did all the candidates for state-wide office. We had a great contingent from the Sixth Plymouth District, including Hanson folks like Cathy Egan, Sean Flanagan, Joe O'Sullivan and Danielle Hennessey.

Support Pembroke Skate Park

Friends of the Pembroke Skate Park are trying to raise money to build a skateboard/bmx facility in town. They are asking for folks to vote on a community grant from Pepsi for $250,000. You can support this effort and vote for this idea by visitng their website. Unlike my race you really can vote early and often! Please visit this page to vote.

First trip to Fenway!

Took my son Charlie for his first trip to Fenway Park to see the Red Sox game on Sunday along with his cousin Alex and my brother Ben. I'm not sure the boys really watched that much of the game, but they sure had fun -- even if we did miss Big Papi's 3 run homer because we were standing in line for ice cream.

Coffee on West Street

Enjoyed visiting folks in West Street area of Duxbury at neighborhood coffee hosted by Linda Garrity and Joan Edgar.

Pammy's Day on the Green

Had a great time at "Pammy's Day on the Green" this afternoon in Pembroke. Charlie came along and took part in all the kids activities, including this fishing game. Organized by family and friends of the late Pam Rowell, the carnival-style event ran from noon -4 p.m. on the Town Green and raised funds for building a skate park in Pembroke.

Yard sale benefit in Pembroke

Stopped by Julie Caruso's house Saturday morning for a benefit yard sale hosted by Julie and Diane Tobin. We brought some brownies (credit to Danielle) and picked up an old fridge for the office. Proceeds from the yard sale to go help the family of a young man with cystic fibrosis who recently had a lung transplant. Kudos to Julie and Diane who are always there to support a good cause.
