Pembroke pond clean-up funds announced

IMG_3401.JPG

Attended the Pembroke Watershed Association meeting this evening to make the official announcement on behalf of Senate President Therese Murray and myself that Pembroke will be receiving an additional $50,000 in pond clean up funds thanks to an amendment we secured in the FY15 state budget. Pembroke ponds play such an integral role in the fabric of the town and these funds will help to keep them healthy and accessible to residents, as well as reduce the burden on local taxpayers. Thanks to Selectmen Daniel Trabucco, Arthur Boyle and Michelle Burt for their support as well as PWA President Hal Johnson and former President Ray Holman for all the great work they do to help our ponds. If you live near any one of Pembroke's pond (or even if you don't) you should join the PWA. You can be a member for as little as $15 and your support will help to protect and preserve one of our town's most important assets. Join online at www.pembrokewatershed.com or contact membership chair Debi Johnson at debij@mac.com.
