Jeff Sanchez (D-Jamaica Plain) is the new chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee, the state’s chief budget making committee and one of the most powerful positions in Massachusetts state government. Rep. Sanchez grew up in a housing project in Mission Hill and was first elected state representative in 2002. He is the first Latino to serve as Ways & Means Chairman in the Commonwealth’s history.
Rep. Sanchez is an expert in health care policy. He earned a BA from UMass Boston and an MBA from the Kennedy School at Harvard University. He has recently been in the news as a leading voice on behalf of hurricane relief efforts for Puerto Rico.
Rep Sanchez will be coming to Duxbury as the special guest of Rep. Josh Cutler. This is a great opportunity to meet one of the state’s most influential political leaders and help support our own hard working state rep. Details and tickets info is below.
