The Mass. Teachers Association has announced its endorsement of Hanson state Rep. Josh Cutler for re-election this November. Rep. Cutler was also endorsed by the American Federation of Teachers and the Mass. Nurses Association.
The Mass. Nurses Association (MNA) represents over 23,000 registered nurse and health care professionals across the state. The Mass. Teachers Association (MTA) and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) collectively represent more than 135,000 educators, faculty and support staff in the Commonwealth.
“Josh Cutler is an excellent representative for the Sixth Plymouth District,” said MTA President Barbara Madeloni. “Josh is committed to advocating for students and for our public schools, colleges and universities. We know he will continue to do all he can to help working families and communities across Massachusetts.”
During the current legislative term Rep. Cutler led a bipartisan coalition of lawmakers to successful advocate for changes to the state’s school funding formula. This resulted in increased funding for school districts around the state, including an additional $137,000 for Whitman Hanson.
In addition to its endorsement, the Mass. Nurses bestowed a legislative advocacy award on Rep. Cutler for his efforts to support safe staffing and hospital transparency legislation.
“I am honored to earn the support of these respected organizations representing teachers and nurses here in Hanson and across this district,” said Rep. Cutler. “They are on the front lines of educating our children, keeping us healthy and treating us when we are sick and deserve our support.”
