The future of deep offshore wind power and other forms of renewable energy will be focus of a forum on Tuesday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m at the Duxbury Senior Center.
Entitled “Renewable Energy 2.0”, the forum will feature Rep. Pat Haddad, Speaker Pro-Tempore of the Mass. House of Representatives along with experts from the offshore wind industry and advocates for anaerobic digester technology used to convert agricultural waste into electricity for farms.
Legislation seeking to harness offshore wind in waters deep off the South Coast of Massachusetts is currently under review in the state legislature. Advocates for offshore wind power will be making their case as to the potential for creating jobs and renewable energy for our state and how deep offshore wind differs from Cape Wind.
The forum will also features experts explaining how anaerobic digesters are converting energy potential in agricultural and food waste into electricity and how Massachusetts can promote this technology around the state.
All residents are invited to attend this educational forum for an engaging conversation about two critical renewable energy technologies. The event is sponsored by Rep. Josh Cutler and Rep. Tom Calter.
