It's hard to find the right words to express when a tragedy like yesterday's bombing at the Boston Marathon happens. While our medical professionals tend to the wounded, our law enforcement experts work to bring the perpetrators to justice and our faith leaders comfort those who have lost loved ones, we are left to stand by and confront difficult questions. How could this ever have happened in our city? Who could possibly commit such a reprehensible act? How can we prevent this from ever happening again? What can we do to help?
This is time when we can come together and share our sorrow and strength. In that spirit I invite to join us for a South Shore Vigil for Peace, A Response to the Boston Marathon Bombings this evening sponsored by the Duxbury Interfaith Council.
The vigil will be held this evening from 7pm-8pm on the front lawn of the First Parish Church in Duxbury (Route 3A next to Duxbury Town Hall). Members of the clergy and local officials will be offering remarks. In case of bad weather, the vigil will be held inside the church. All are welcome to join us.
