I spent a good chunk of time up at the State House the past two days meeting folks and getting reacquainted. Today I attended an info session on children's health issues hosted by March of Dimes and then joined my new colleagues for an informal welcome reception hosted by Rep. Pat Haddad. We've got a great group of new legislators in my class from all around the state including Franklin, Fall River, Worcester, Holyoke, Gardner, Belmont, Easton, Attleboro and Cambridge just to name a few. One thing I've learned I need to work on is my Massachusetts geography! Later I got a nice tour of the State Treasurer's office and a warm reception from Treasurer Steve Grossman who to no one's surprise was easting a bowl of ice cream and about to head into a meeting. Thanks to everyone for making us feel welcome. I'm really honored to be here and be part of this great democratic process.
